LeBron James of the Miami Heat had a monster game last night in Boston. The Heat were facing elimination in the Eastern Conference Finals, if they didn’t pull off a road win. So James practically took his team on his shoulders and delivered a win in game 6. He scored 45 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Only Wilt Chamberlain had attained such numbers in a playoff game in NBA post season history. With James scoring roughly half of his team’s points, until he sat down in the 4th quarter, the Heat cruised to an easy 98-79 victory. Now the series goes back to Miami for game 7 on Saturday night. Will this be the end of the big 3 in Boston? Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen may not all be back in Boston next year. Or will this be another disappointing end of a season for Miami’s big 3 of James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh?
The Oklahoma City Thunder is waiting to see who they will play in the NBA Finals. The Thunder beat the San Antonio Spurs 4 games in a row, after losing the first 2 in San Antonio, in the Western Conference Finals. The Spurs had been on a 20 game winning streak, going back to the regular season, before the Thunder hung those 4 losses on them, to end their season. The Thunder took away home court advantage in game 5, and put away the Spurs in game 6 in Oklahoma City. So the well-rested young Thunder will find out tomorrow night if they face the Miami Heat or the Boston Celtics. The Thunder look like they will be a scary team for many years to come.
